2009 Magnetic Coaster Calender #2

As promised, here's another magnetic coaster calendar that I made. The little "tear-off" calendar template came from Splitcoaststampers.

The patterned paper is from the Angelee Collection by The Angel Company.

And here's the back of it with magnets, inked edges, and the ends of the ribbon that I adhered with glue dots on the back.

EDITED TO ADD: HERE is the 2009 calendar template I used. And in case you're interested, you can find a 2010 template HERE.

Make it a great day, Tootles!

2009 Coaster Magnetic Calender

Well I hope your Christmas was fantastic! What a great time of year - I love getting together with family and just having fun.

*************************************

Here's a coaster calendar that I made to put on the refrigerator, or any other magnetic surface. I found the template for these little "tear-off" calendars online. It was on Splitcoaststampers I think.

It's pretty plain and simple. I used some paper from the Juliette collection by The Angel Company. The flowers across the bottom is the strip that comes on the edge of the patterned paper that you would normally cut off and discard. I added a little dot of Stickles in the center of each flower.

And here's the magnets that I glued on the back. You can also see that I inked the edges of the cardstock with a brown marker.

Easy as pie! I'll show you another one next week. Until then, Tootles!

Naughty or Nice List

(This is a re-run post that got deleted. So here we go again!)

Well it's kind of late to be posting this as a Christmas project, but maybe you can get an idea for next year, LOL!

This is a purse-sized Christmas planner, of sorts. It's basically a way to keep your gift purchases organized.

Pretty plain and simple on the front but if I were to carry this in my purse, I wouldn't want any delicate embellishments on it. The sentiment is computer-generated.

I used two 4" coasters and assembled it with my Bind-it-All.

I created the template in Excel based on what *I* wanted to keep track of if/when I use this. (For now, I'm still using my manilla file folder Christmas Planner though!)

This little book has a place to write the person's name at the top. Then below, you add the item(s) you buy for them as well as how much money you spent. There is also a column to check off when that item has been wrapped. I added that column because I have things stashed here and there throughout the house and I'm always afraid I'm going to forget a gift somewhere along the way!

I put a lot of pages in this book so I can use it several years hopefully. It helps to refer back to previous years to see what we gave to people.

This is probably my last post until after Christmas so I want to wish all of you a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS! May you have a safe and happy holiday. I hope that we all take a moment to pause and remember the true reason for the season - the birth of Christ. God bless you!

2009 Coaster Calendar

Here's a quick coaster calendar I threw together. I covered two 4" square coasters with paper, printed a calendar (which I found online), and put it together with my Bind-it-All using 3/8" o-wires.

On the front, the numbers are stickers from a Basic Grey collection that I've had for a few years. I also used my Martha Stewart branch punch of course!

I used some pop-dots here, but each number circle stack varies in dimension.

And here's how it would sit on my desk. Except I gave it away, LOL! This was one of my door prizes I made for our Women's Christmas Cookie Exchange and Workshop at church last weekend.

Enjoy your weekend, Tootles!

Coaster Christmas Countdown

Here is one of my favorite projects I've made for this Christmas! It's a Christmas Countdown! Check it out!

I used:
(2) 4" square coasters
Scalloped Square and Labels One Nestibilities Dies
SU! paper
Simple-bet stamp set from The Angel Company
Palette L'Amore Red Ink
Martha Stewart Snowflake Punch
Crystal Stickles
6 square white brads
Bind-it-All with 5/8" red wires
white gel pen

Here's a closer view of the front to show the "bling".

When you flip the front cover over, it stands up on it's own like an easel. First, I printed all the numbers using a Snowbiz font I have on my computer. I colored them with Tombow markers, then used a tag-shaped punch to cut them out. The green tag layer was cut with a trimmer and scissors, but of course if you have another size tag punch it would be much quicker. I have numbers 0-9 on both sides so you could start counting down the days at 99 "Days Til Christmas" if you wanted, LOL!

After gluing the white and green tags together, I punched a hole in the top of each one with the small hole on my Crop-a-Dile. Next I placed them in between the two covers and used the Bind-It-All to bind it all together.

Here's a closer view of some numbers.

This sentiment was computer generated.

I made the numbers and the sentiment in Microsoft Word. My white tags are 1" wide so that gave me an idea of what size font to use. Just print yours out on copy paper first until you get what you need, THEN print it on cardstock.

Enjoy your week, Tootles!

Oh, and let me know if you make one of these! Leave your link below:

Post-it Note Holder

I finally got around to making a Post-it Note Holder using two 4" square coasters. These are SUPER easy to do!

I covered two coasters, each with a 6" square piece of patterned paper. Fold the corners over to the back and glue, then the sides. (I didn't mess with notching the corners out on this project and it turned out great!)

I used paper from My Mind's Eye, some Nestabilities dies, a white gel pen, and the stamp set Little Inspirations from TAC.

For the inside, I cut a piece of Bazzill cardstock to 3 15/16" x 8 1/4". I scored it at 3 15/16" from each end and rounded the 4 corners. Then I glued it to the back of each coaster, with the small scored section "hanging out" in between the coasters. This gives you enough room to add a pad of Post-it Notes to your sandwich!

Very simple, sturdy, little gift! If you make one, be sure to add your link to the list below so I can see it! And check back on Sunday for another REALLY COOL coaster project!!!

Make it a great weekend, Tootles!

My "To Do" List / Book

At my TAC Hostess Club meeting in May, we made little 4" coaster albums with the Bind-It-All. But we didn't decorate them - I made it their "homework" for June's meeting. That's when everyone brought theirs back all cute and embellished just for show-and-tell!

Here's what I did with mine:

This patterned paper is by Paperbilities from Walmart. I'll admit - with my hostess club ladies, I get a little lax about using non-TAC paper and cardstock. These ladies are all very good friends of mine and I know they're going to buy from me anyway. They are committed to the club until October for this year, LOL!

I used Bazzill Bitty Blossoms which can be purchased from The Angel Company (TAC), as well as the Polo Button Brads. The stamp sets I used are Simple-bet and Alpha Grunge, both from TAC.

I have so many post-it notes all over my desk here, that I haven't started using this little book yet. But I need to! I'm one of those people that forgets if I don't write it down AND remember to look at it. So I need all my notes in one place! And I think once I use all the sheets of paper in this book, it will hold a pad of post-it notes perfectly.

Thanks for checking in today, Tootles!

My Little Book of Sketches

I got my new Bind-it-All today, whoo hoo!!! Here is a cute project I made.

It's simply a little book that I can keep by my computer for sketching card layouts. I see so many neat things while blog and gallery surfing but then can't remember them. Or where I saw it. So with this book, I can draw the sketch and write down where I saw it.

The front title is computer-generated but I used Rustic Chic paper and a Bazzill Bitty Blossom from The Angel Company.

The inside pages were made from copy paper cut to size.

Here's how I made it:

The front and back covers are 4" x 4" coasters. I covered them with a 5" x 5" piece of Rustic Chic paper.

Glue the coaster to the back of the paper and miter the corners with scissors.

Glue the sides of the paper and fold them over the edges of the coaster. You will then cover the back side with a 3 7/8" x 3 7/8" piece of paper or cardstock with rounded corners. (I used a smaller piece here so I didn't have to round the corners).

Another view.

And the inside.

I also have a cute "Flip Book" on my other blog. It not only uses the Bind-it-All but also the Scor-Pal. My two current favorite toys, LOL! You can check it out HERE.

Hope to inspire you! Tootles!

Coaster clipboard

This may not even be worth showing, LOL. But my hostess club ladies and I just did a group buy on some coasters and I want to give them as many ideas as possible for using them.
I bought some little board clips to make clipboards. These clips are a little small for 4" coasters in my opinion, but oh well. I put a magnet on the back of the coaster since it will go on my fridge. I had to flatten the back side of the clip so the clipboard would be able to lay flat against something. The stamps sets I used are "Alpha Grunge" and "Simple-bet", both from The Angel Company.

Anyway, I just thought this would be a neat way for my family to leave notes for each other here at home. Seems like we're all going in different directions sometimes!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend! Tootles!

It's A-maze-ing!

As I've mentioned before, The Angel Company has released their Spring Supplement. Brand new this time is "Project Cards"! On each page of the Supplement, there is an index card sized project tutorial that you can cut out and save. You can also see these project cards on TAC's website under Promotions > Spring Supplement > Project Cards.
I got the inspiration for this project from the "Sweet Swirls Album" project card. I've also seen this technique called "Maze Book". You begin with a 12" x 12" piece of cardstock and score at 3", 6", and 9" in both directions. Once again, I used my Scor-pal. The great thing about the Scor-pal is you can make all three score lines without even moving your cardstock! Next, you will cut on three of the score lines. You can see the diagram HERE that shows you where to cut.

For my Maze Book, I used (2) 4" x 4" coasters for the front and back of the book. They are covered with Frutti Fusion Wing It Collection paper by TAC. To cover the coasters, I cut my paper to 5 1/2" x 5 1/2", mitered the corners, and glued the sides on the back. Then I covered the back with a 3 7/8" x 3 7/8" piece of plain white cardstock.

I punched 3 holes in each coaster with my Crop-a-Dile, added eyelets, and used ribbon to hold the book together. I also added two Bazzill Bitty Blossoms and Crystal Brads to the front cover. You can get both of these items through TAC also. Since I had already covered the back of the coaster, I put the brads through the blossoms only, and then adhered them with glue dots. Next time, I will put the brads through the coaster before gluing the back piece on!
The pages are folded accoridan-style. Three pages have the edges facing out so I fastened the corners together with an eyelet to create tag pockets. I stamped random sayings and quotes on the pages as well as various swirls and images. I also stamped several shapes with my Mega and Giga Scalloped punches from various patterns from the Frutti Fusion paper. Those shapes are on various pages throughout the book as well.
I used Colorbox Fluid Chalk inks to complete this project. The stamps sets I used were:
Oh How, by TAC
Swirly Gigs, by TAC
Circle Sampler, by TAC
Refuge and Strengh, by SU!

This would also make a great little photo album! Either way, it makes a great gift and it's very fun to make.

Hope it inspires you! Have a great day!

Tootles!

Coaster Magnet

I whipped up a coaster magnet this afternoon using my favorite stamp set and favorite TAC cardstock (yeah, you may get tired of seeing these two items on here! LOL)

1. I started with a 4" x 4" chipboard coaster and inked the edges with Palette Burnt Umber ink.
2. Then I cut a 4" x 4" square from the patterned TAC Mimi cardstock, rounded the corners, inked the edges, and glued it to the coaster.
3. Next, I stamped my images on coordinating solid cardstock and did some paper piecing on the egg with another pattern from the Mimi collection.
4. I colored the chicks with Tombow markers.

5. There is a magnet glued to the back.

I thought this would make a great fridge magnet!

That's all for today! Have a great weekend!

Tootles!
