Another box-in-a-bag

I made some adjustments to my Box-in-a-bag tutorial to make this cute little gift set.

I used the Angelee Soar With It Collection from The Angel Company to make this. I love the soft colors and design of this paper collection. TAC also carries the Mega Scalloped Circle Punch, Coluzzle cutting system, Super Jumbo Flower punch, 1" circle punch, and Tag Tidbits stamp set - all of which were used to decorate the front of this bag.

In the original tutorial, the box portion ends up being 2 1/2" square. However, I changed it this time so I could add some 3" x 3" notecards making this a wonderful little gift for someone special! So the bottom of this box is 3 1/4" x 1 1/2" when finished.

Here's what I did:
1. For the box, start with a 5 1/4" x 3 1/2" piece of cardstock and score at 1" on all four sides. Fold the sides up, cutting once at each corner, and adhering those flaps on the inside (see steps 2 - 4 of my other tutorial).

2. For the bag, use a 10 1/4" x 4" piece of cardstock. Adhere it around the sides of the box. It will be 4" tall. (See steps 7 - 8 of my other tutorial).

3. On this box-in-a-bag, I added a 1/2" strip of cardstock around the top and bottom for contrasting trim. I also used two 6" pieces of ribbon for the handles attaching them with brads.

Here's a view with some 3" x 3" notecards inside.

I kept these notecards pretty simple. I started with 6" x 3" pieces of Bazzill and Bazzill Bling cardstock, and scored/folded them in half to make 3" squares. Then I inserted only the front half in various Cuttlebug A2 embossing folders for some texture.

Since my Angelee Soar With It Collection comes with a sheet of tags, I was going to use them to embellish these cards. But between the "Bling" shimmer and the embossed texture, I think they're fine just like this.

This project is pretty simple to adjust so it can be made in so many different sizes. I hope you have been inspired!

Tootles!
