I saw THIS post on Dawn's Stamping Thoughts and it inspired me to use a similar technique to make my own card (cutting out a notch on the front layer). As usual though, I gotta be a little different. ::wink::
I kept this simple since it was one of 3 cards my hostess club was making.
Supplies:
3 1/4” x 11” red cardstock
2” x 5 1/2” green cardstock
2 1/4” x 3” green cardstock
2” x 2 3/4” white cardstock
1 1/4” x 1 3/4” white cardstock
1 3/4” x 5 1/2” patterned paper
1 1/4” x 1 3/4” chipboard rectangle (or use cardstock)
Palette Landscape ink (from The Angel Company)
T3045 Holiday Collages stamp set (by The Angel Company)
Marvy Super Jumbo Square punch (from The Angel Company)
Adhesive
Directions:
1. Score and fold red cardstock in half.
2. Using the Super Jumbo Square punch, cut a notch out of the card FRONT only. You will only punch 7/8” in from the top edge. Mark it with a pencil first if you need to.
3. Stamp portion of image on small white cardstock and adhere to chipboard rectangle. Ink the edges. Adhere chipboard to the inside of the card as shown so it’s fits inside the notch when the card is closed. Also, make sure the total height of the card and chipboard rectangle is not more than 4 1/4” (so it will still fit in a regular card envelope).4. Adhere green cardstock and patterned paper strips to front of card.
5. Stamp full image on remaining white cardstock piece, mat with green cardstock, adhere to card front.

That is a really great card! I love Dawn's card, too, but you did a fabulous job of making it your own! I love it!!
Like much better your version of the card of Dawns. Actually, I highlighted it to be able to case it. I don't have the set (Is in my wish list but I prefered Spanish Sentiments) but I know I can use another equally successfully.
